Memory April 7-11

Memory Work for 7th grade
April 07 – 11
Monday
John 1:14  And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
Tuesday
1 Peter 2:24   He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.
Wednesday
First part of baptism - What is Baptism?  Baptism is not just plain water, but it is in the water included in God’s command and combined with God’s word.
Thursday
Second part of baptism – what benefits does Baptism give?  It works forgiveness of sins, rescues from death and the devil, and gives eternal salvation to all who believe this, as the words and promises of God declare.
Friday
Third part of baptism – How can water do such great things?  Certainly not just water, but the word of God in and with the water does these things, along with the faith which trusts this word of God in the water.  For without God’s word the water is plain water and no baptism.  But with the word of God it is a baptism, that is a life-giving water, rich in grace, and a washing of the new birth in the Holy Spirit.

CHRISTMAS SERVICE RECITATIONS – GRADES 6 - 8

6-8:  In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world.

6-8:  So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David.

6-8: and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

6-8:  But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.

6-8: Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests."

6-8: When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them.  But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.
